Gutting suggests that steps be taken to ensure that high schools are as attractive to teach in as colleges are. Only the best teacher should be recruited to teach the students so that their performance can be improved. Furthermore, it is also necessary to improve the infrastructure in schools so that both teachers and students feel comfortable working within it. If all these are implemented, then, Gutting suggests, a high school education would be sufficient to allow an individual to function perfectly in the workplace. Only those who want to specialize in certain fields should be the ones going to college. Evaluation When one considers the article by Gutting, one will find that most of his arguments make sense. It is, indeed, true that the quality of high school education in America has been gradually eroding over the years. This is due to the lack of qualified people to teach high school students. If the majority of the teachers today were competent enough in what they were doing, then it would not have been necessary for students to go to college in the first place. College would have been only for those people who were interested in furthering their education. Making high school teaching jobs attractive would require the introduction of equal or more incentive than that given to college professors. This will ensure that more professionals who would otherwise have opted to teach in colleges going to teach in high school. Such a move would almost instantly ensure that the quality of education in high schools went up. It would offer high school students an insight into what exactly they would like to do in their lives. Terry Tempest Williams is a naturalist, a feminist, a writer who brings such power into everything she touches. Herself driven passion with her positive outlook and drive for change has brought so much goodness into this world. She has overcome many obstacles, including her own struggle within herself, but has last realized that the fight with nature is the same fight we have with ourselves, and ultimately accepting the outcome; whatever that may be unnatural, or natural, is the secret to life. Terry is a Mormon who grew up in Utah, loving nature and striving to keep it natural. She never understood why there were so many people that didn’t care. She found peace in serenity in a bird refuge. She came to the bird refuge many, many times. This was her sanctuary, where things made sense. The bird refuge in the Great Salt Lake is home to her, and her family before her. Her grandmother taught her so much of the ways of the lake, the animals, and how it was to be conserved. She often went back to her child memories where she spent most of her days there with the birds, just watching how they live their life in so much peace, unaware of all of the hurtful pieces of life outside of their home. â€Å"This is another paradox of mine, wanting to be a bird when I am human.† (Williams,R 266) There was one particular place that was her favorite; she would come to watch owls nest. They would nest in the same spot year after year. On one occasion she had come to see them, watching their heads pop up, and they were gone. A truck full of construction workers were making fun of her as they thought the owls were no big deal. Introduction Vision – it tells about what the company wanted to become about 5-20 years in the future. It is the master plan about where the company will be; a sense of direction. Often it reflects the dream of the founder or leader. It must be simple and understandable that everyone in the organization can feel excited on the vision. Mission- It tells about what the company is doing or the company’s passion.It is how the company will get to its vision. It is a  what  versus a  how, and is very similar to a vision statement in that it has a future orientation but in a short-term. Strategy – It is the step by step plan of the company on how to achieve the vision. It looks inside the organization and outward at the competition and at the environment and business climate. 2. Because a company depends on the people working as well as the customers, it is effective if the vision will affect its employees and customers. Having an effective vision will have the employees something to look forward to, and be motivated to achieve it. Mission statement is a declaration of an organization’s core purpose. It also must be simple for everyone to memorize it. It is the thing that needs to be done in order to achieve the vision.Mission statement needs to be easy to remember and it needs to provide actual direction. Just like the vision, it should also reflect how it will benefit the community and its employees. b. How can the vision, mission, and strategy drive change in the organization? These statements bind the organization for direction and motivation. Any change in the organization will have to coordinate with its vision and mission. It might be to improve the organization and achieve the vision quickly. It might also be because the leadership has change or the entire mission and vision have changed. . How can the vision, mission and strategy statements put limits on the organization when it comes to change? Vision, mission and strategy are what the company wanted to be and how to achieve it. Sometimes, there are better way to do things but is not the way the organization should do things. It limits the organization to change. An organizat ion cannot just change because they wanted to, or they think it will benefit the company. They must think first if it is align with the statements and if not, neglect the change and think of something else.

In the United States, there are over one hundred thousand people on the waiting list to receive a life-saving organ donation, yet only one out of four will ever receive that precious gift (Statistics Facts, n.d.). The demand for organ donation has consistently exceeded supply, and the gap between the number of recipients on the waiting list and the number of donors has increased by 110% in the last ten years (OReilly, 2009). As a result, some propose radical new ideas to meet these demands, including the selling of human organs. Financial compensation for organs, which is illegal in the United States, is considered repugnant to many. The solution to this ethical dilemma isn’t found in a wallet; there are other alternatives available†¦show more content†¦They conclude that â€Å"research shows that the underlying motivation of most paid kidney donors is poverty† and that â€Å"paid kidney donation is associated with depression, regret, and discriminationâ €  (The State of the International Organ Trade, 2007). In other words, throwing money at the poor in exchange for their organs will not get them out of poverty. Offering a financial incentive program for organ donation will allow the rich to exploit the poor and deprive the poor from life-saving donation. The demand for organs will likely remain higher than the supply; therefore, prices for organs will become competitive and eliminate the chance for the poor to receive a transplant. Implementing financial compensation would only serve to shift the demographic of organ recipients away from those with the greatest need to those with the greatest wealth. Proponents of financial compensation for organ donors argue that it’s legal to be paid for donating reproductive material, and they suggest that organs should be handled in the same manner. The obvious difference, however, is that inability to conceive a child isn’t life-threatening. Healthy organs for transplan t are limited, and recipients must be carefully selected to ensure that the transplant is successful.
